LMFAO. “Atlantis is callling, S.O.S. for love.” I love this video. First of all, the idea of the great lost sub-aquatic city sending out an S.O.S. in service of this Fabio-haired, padded-shouldered 1980’s manequin’s love life is fascinating. I also think using a fish bowl to represent the city was an artistic choice worthy of Spinal Tap. Let’s not forget the guitar player, who isn’t really playing. He ads so much, is so essential. First, he’s leaning against a wall then walking down stairs like he’s on a cat walk, Then comes the piesta resistance, where he commits a felony by throwing a torch into a U.S. Postal Service mailbox. The dramatic lighting, the fire and water motif, picking up both the themes of love and Atlantis, in case anyone didn’t get it, amazing. And all of this for love.
